AN Irrigation Co Sprinkler Systems is a local, family-run irrigation company working out of Calgary. We do one trade: residential lawn sprinklers and drip systems, installed, repaired, and looked after through the seasons. That focus is deliberate. Irrigation in this part of Alberta is its own animal, with a short season, freeze-up that arrives on its own schedule, hail that can chew up a summer afternoon, and city watering guidance to stay onside with. A crew that installs and services sprinklers here every week gets good at exactly that, and it shows up as the thing we care about most: callbacks we never get.
The season runs April through October, and during it we work seven days a week. Spring is start-ups and new installs. Mid-summer is repairs and tune-ups. Fall is blowout season, when the phone rings from the first cool night until freeze-up. Living on that calendar year after year teaches you things no manual covers: which weeks fill up first, when the frost risk actually ends in this city, and how late you can safely push a blowout booking before you're gambling with someone's buried lines.
How We Actually Run a Job
Every project starts the same way, with a free on-site visit. We put a gauge on your outside tap and measure static and working pressure, time the flow, and walk the yard noting sun, shade, slope, and what's planted where. Those numbers decide everything downstream, because the count of heads a zone can carry comes straight off the available flow. Guess at it, the way rushed installers do, and you get a system that mists weakly instead of spraying, no matter how long it runs.
From there you get a written, itemized quote laid out zone by zone, so you can see what each part of the yard costs and why. If you go ahead, we book utility locates before any machine touches grass, because gas and cable run shallow in plenty of Calgary yards and a vibratory plow will find them the hard way if nobody checked. The install itself usually takes one to two days. The plow slits the turf rather than trenching it open, the valves go into accessible boxes instead of being buried loose, and poly pipe goes in the ground because it handles our frost and ground movement far better than rigid pipe does.
Before we call any job finished, we run every zone with you standing there. You watch the coverage, we adjust arcs and spray patterns on the spot, and we program the controller together so you understand what it's doing and how to change it yourself. Then the site gets cleaned up, and you keep our number for the fall blowout.

When a zone is dead or a lawn is browning in patches, we test the chain in order (controller, wiring, solenoid, valve, pressure, heads) until the actual fault shows itself, then quote the fix in writing before touching anything. Pricing and the Warranty, in Plain Terms
The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. We price after seeing the property, not from a phone script, and once you approve it the price does not move mid-job. If we open something up and find a genuine surprise, the work pauses, you get an explanation and a written price for the change, and nothing extra happens until you say yes. We'd rather lose a job by quoting honestly than win one with a surprise invoice, because we plan to be working in this city for a long time.
The workmanship warranty is just as plain: if something we installed fails because of how we installed it, we come back and make it right. Heads settle, fittings can seep, and a poorly made wire connection will corrode. None of that should be your problem when the work was ours. Manufacturer warranties cover the equipment itself, and we install parts from established manufacturers partly for that reason. We're insured, and documentation is available before any work begins.
Older systems get the same honesty. Replacement is recommended only when the math genuinely favours you. Most of the time a valve, a handful of heads, or a controller swap buys an aging system several more good years, and we'll say so even when a bigger job would pay us more.
Why We Push the Seasonal Rhythm So Hard
An irrigation system in Calgary lives or dies on two appointments a year: the spring start-up and the fall blowout. Skip the blowout and any water left in the lines freezes, expands, and splits pipe and valves underground, where the damage hides until spring. Rush the start-up and the pressure spike cracks the fittings winter spared. We book both in blocks through the season, remind our install customers when their window opens, and would rather run a blowout a week early than gamble against the first hard frost, which in this city has a habit of showing up in September without asking anyone.
