The drive out to Cochrane
Cochrane sits in the Bow Valley about eighteen kilometres west of Calgary's city limits, and Highway 1A is our direct road in. We pick up Crowchild Trail heading northwest, which carries the 1A designation from Stoney Trail to the edge of the city, then follow it west past the Bearspaw acreages into town.
The 1A drops down the long hill as you come into Cochrane, with the town and the river valley laid out below. Once we are down the hill, Highway 22 is the main north-south artery through town, and the 22 and 1A junction puts every Cochrane neighbourhood within a few minutes of the truck.
